Wildman's Alternative America - 2008

Wildman aka SIR WILDMAN the Mystic Seer, is one of the first people I met in Los Angeles. He was living in a boarding house in Echo Park where my college friend, Tim Maloney, was living. He's kind of the remains of the trippy 60's. I made a documentary about him which I will eventually post.
What we have here is a 13 min experimental piece which combines footage that Tim and I shot in the mid 90's and recent footage when Wildman gave us those original video tapes. I've picture and sound montaged the footage to something specifically overwhelming -- very much like dealing with yours truly, Wildman. The original 90's footage was for an alternative music show that Wildman wanted to produce. It was titled, Alternative America.

to Ivy with love - 1998

Yet another dog video. Before Leave Blue Alone, I made this video of my friends dog, Ivy, while taking care of her for a weekend. It's 12:44 mins in length and I was having fun experimenting with some in camera options. Editing wise I played with inter cutting between two different walks.
Hope you enjoy. Blue maybe the cutest dog but Ivy is the sweetest. My landlord does not permit dogs and growing up we had dogs but my father always had them in dog shows or they were given up too quickly. Guess I'll talk more to my therapist about that one.

Baba Sheba - Music Video 1985 & 2008

This is a 1:40 minute music video is comprised a super 8 film I shot my sophomore year (1985) at Northwestern University. Simply put, I saw a woman massaging her boyfriend's hair while on a bus. I thought it an evocative visual.
I've now taken that film and re-mixed it both visually and aurally. The music I created in GarageBand using some heavy percussion and some African vocal loops. To watch the original college version watch the video to the right.

FreeFall - Director's Reel Montage

This is a 5:15 minute montage that I assembled for my director/best friend, Jeff Fine. He asked me to create a tone piece combining a number of projects he had directed. One of the films is of a boy coming of age in the early 70's and he is learning to surf. It was titled, Sandman, and I edited it for Jeff.
The montage is structured in three sections set to music from The Shawshank Redemption. I was pretty much on my own to edit the piece and really emphasizes one of my strong points in editing, montage.

Communicating Non-Defensively - 1994 video

In 1994, I worked for a company that produced corporate videos, CRM Productions. While there I edited a project titled, Communicating Non-Defensively. As the title states, it was an effective video showing how to communicate with fellow workers in a way that empathetically diffused tension in the work place.
I enjoyed the project so much and working 9 hours during the day was not enough so I spent the evenings making this version of the video. Kind of different the the original.

This is a 3:32 minute video parody of the viral Chris Crocker video on YouTube where he wants everyone to leave Britney Alone. Probably the best parody video is Seth Green's.
Enjoy even though disturbing. Don't blame me blame Chris Crocker. He started it so Don't Leave Chris Crocker Alone.
