Federico Fellini once said, "I cut my movies like I cut a big pizza... with a lot of love." Well... OK, he never said that but you can see the love and effort that went into the making of his films. Editorially, his films like La Dolce Vita or 8½ are visual and aural roller coasters that take you on a exciting ride to your final destination -- the end of the film, Fin.
As a professional editor, I strive to create such a emotional ride. No matter what the project (narrative, commercial, or montage), there is always a story to tell. Initially, when cutting I tap into the proverbial marble of the footage and figure out how it wants to be edited. Progressing from my editor's cut, the project is then further refined with the necessary collaboration of creative directors and producers. The final product is always one that I'm proud to say that I've edited.
I've been working as an editor for 20 years since moving to Los Angeles. It has been and continues to be a fruitful career. Since 1997, I've been a union member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild.
On this page you can click on samples of projects that I've edited during my career. This will demonstrate my proficiency in a wide range of formats from narrative (single camera and multi-cam projects) to experimental montage.
